Soft reset:

1. Use the stylus tip to press the RESET button at the right panel of your device.

2. Your device restarts and displays the Home screen.

Hard Reset:

If a normal reset does not solve a system problem, you can perform a hard (full) reset. After a hard reset, the device is restored to its default settings—the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. You will lose any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your device, and only Windows Mobile® software and other pre-installed programs will remain.

Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Make sure that any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before you perform a hard reset.

1. With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons until you see this message on the screen.

2. Release the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons.

3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset

Hard Reset – alternate way

If you can access the device settings, you can use Clear Storage to reset your device back to factory default settings.

1. Tap Start > Settings.

2. On the System tab, tap Clear Storage.

3. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.

Instructions on how to reset Apple iPhone and Apple iPhone 3G

Reboot:

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Soft Reset:

Reset iPhone settings.

From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. All your preferences are reset, but no data or media is deleted.

Hard reset:

Symptoms that may have occurred with an unsuccessful restore may include a frozen screen-either at the Apple logo or some other application-or the device may repeatedly reset.

1. Verify you have iTunes 7.5 or later. Apple recommends using the latest version of iTunes.
2. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer’s USB port.
3. Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPhone or iPod touch to turn off.
4. Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable to iPhone. When you reconnect the USB to iPhone, the device should then power on. Note: If you see the message “Charging… Please Wait” or you see the screen pictured below, let the device charge for at least 10 minutes to ensure the battery has some charge and then start with step 2 again.

1. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
2. When you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message:

If you don’t see the “Connect to iTunes” screen, then disconnect the USB cable from iPhone and repeat steps 3-6.

Soft reset:

1. Remove the battery cover
2. Remove the battery
3. Reinsert the battery
4. Your device will boot normally

Hard reset:

To return your phone to original settings:

1. Start > System Tools > Master Reset
2. The default master reset code is 000000 (6 zeroes).

Master reset does not reset the unlock code, security code, and lifetime timer.

Or:

Without your password, you can reset your phone, but you will lose your personalized settings and all content stored in phone memory. To
perform a hard reset:

1. Press and hold the middle button (rocker) for 5 seconds while turning the phone on.

2. Then select Continue Rebooting.

Soft reset:

A soft reset is similar to restarting a computer. If your Treo is not responding or you have trouble synchronizing with your computer, a soft reset may help.

1. If your Treo responds to key presses, press and hold Power/End to turn off your phone.
2. If the screen display is on, press Power/End to turn off the screen.
3. Remove the battery from your Treo, and then reinsert it. The reset begins when you insert the battery back.
4. Wait for the progress bar on the Palm logo screen to fill and the Windows Mobile screen to transition to the Today screen before continuing to use your Treo. (Be patient, this may take a few minutes.)

Hard reset:

A hard reset erases all personal information, such as appointments, contacts, and tasks, as well as programs you have added, such as third-party software, on your Treo. Never do a hard reset without first trying a soft reset.

If possible, synchronize your device with your computer so that your device applications
and info can be restored by synchronizing again after you perform the hard reset.

1. Remove the battery from your Treo.
2. Press and hold Power/End while reinserting the battery.
3. When the Palm logo screen appears and the progress bar begins to fill, release Power/End .
   When the “Erase all data?” prompt appears, press Up to confirm the hard reset.
   Wait for the progress bar on the Palm logo screen to fill again and for the Windows Mobile screen to appear.
   Follow the onscreen instructions to align the screen before continuing to use your Treo.

Instructions for reset options for Sprint Samsung i325 ACE

Soft reset:

Resetting the device restores all the factory defaults,including the ringer types and display settings. The Contacts list, call history, scheduler, and messaging are not affected.
1. Press Start > Settings > More… > Security.
2. Select Phone Reset
3. Enter the lock code and press Done (left softkey).
4. Read the disclaimer and press OK (left softkey).

The device will restart and all current data stored on the device will be deleted. This reset process does not affect the data stored on the MicroSD card.

Hard reset:

With phone powered off:
1. Press and hold both the left and right softkeys.
2. While both softkeys are held down, press and hold until the unit powers on.
3. As the device begins to power on, release both softkeys.

Once the phone powers on, you should see an
onscreen alert message (a white screen with blue text).
If you do not see this screen, let the device power up
normally, turn it off again, and then repeat steps 2 and

5. If the reset was successful, the device displays a pop-up message stating the device is currently reformatting. This process can take several
minutes. Allow the process to finish without interruption.
6. When the device has finished resetting, follow the Windows Mobile setup instructions displayed on the screen.

3. Use the stylus to press the Reset button located at the bottom of the back side of the device. Your device restarts and displays the Home screen.

HTC Touch Diamond reset

Hard reset:

3. With the device turned on, press and hold the Volume Down and Enter keys, and then press the Reset button with the stylus tip.
4. Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the Volume Down and Enter keys until you see the following message on the screen:

manufacturer default, or
press other keys to cancel.

Soft reset:

The Reset button allows you to quickly turn off the phone in the event of a program or application error. In this case your i760 would appear to “freeze” and become unresponsive.

1. Slide open the i760 and expose the QWERTY keypad.
2. Rotate the phone to a landscape orientation and locate the Reset button positioned just below the left soft key (shown below).               3. Carefully inserting a thin blunt object (such as your stylus) into this slot will exit the current screen and cycle power to the phone.

Samsung SCH-i760 reset

Hard reset:

1. Slide open the i760 and expose the QWERTY keypad.
2. Rotate the phone to a landscape orientation and locate both the Reset button and Action key (shown below).This process requires that both buttons be pressed simultaneously to initiate the reset process.

3. Press and hold the Action ( ) key and Reset simultaneously (by using a blunt object such as your stylus) for a few seconds.
4. First release Reset then the Action ( ) key. This action restarts the phone, clears any data stored on the phone, and then cycle power to the phone.
5. Once the phone starts, you must tap the LCD screen using your Stylus to begin the calibration process.
